As part of the ACCJC the college undertakes a serious self-evaluation which identifies both strengths and areas for improvement by the college. Los Angeles Harbor College’s current accreditation status is that of probation. During the visit in the Spring of 2012, the college was issued two recommendations and the District was issued four recommendations. The college has taken on these recommendations with an earnest integrity to return to accreditation in good standing as quickly as possible. The college must complete a Follow up Report, which will be reviewed by the ACCJC as well as have a follow up visit in early Spring of 2013. The follow up report and the Standards Teams are listed below.
Los Angeles Harbor College maintains permanent accreditation standard teams. These teams are composed of all four constituencies of the college: Administration, Faculty, Classified Staff, and Students. The teams meet each semester, with the exception of emergency meetings and during the self-evaluation cycle. The teams address regulations, policies, process, and reporting related to specific accreditation standards.
