Welcome to the Kinesiology, Health and Wellness Division

As part of a comprehensive, well-balanced educational experience, Kinesiology provides our students the opportunity to enhance their mental and physical abilities through lecture and physical activities, as well as intercollegiate sports.

Meeting the demand of our multicultural populations, the Kinesiology Department offers courses that have the potential to positively touch, steer, and impact students’ lives which will help students achieve knowledge, healthful living skills, critical thinking, and problem solving for future success.

The Adaptive Kinesiology program serves the ever-changing needs of the community’s diverse special needs population. As for people with special needs, the program is designed to ensure progressive exercise therapy and a safe environment by promoting skills and activities for lifetime fitness, wellness, mobility and quality of life.

The Kinesiology, Health, and Wellness Program offers courses in Kinesiology, Kinesiology Major, Adapted Kinesiology, Dance, Health, and Kinesiology Athletics.

Kinesiology Adapted Courses Offered:

KIN. 045 Adapted Fitness

Individualized exercise program covering basic elements of physical fitness and training principals.

KIN. 046 Adapted Strength Training

Emphasis placed on strength training techniques

KIN. 049 Adapted Cardiovascular Fitness

Development of cardiovascular endurance through the use of bicycle ergometer, treadmills and hand cranks.

KIN. 050 Adapted Exercises for Back Disorders

Individualized routine including stretching, resistive exercise and cardiovascular fitness.
