International Student Health Insurance Plan Brochure
As of August 15, 2021 your health insurance provider will switch from Anthem to Sirius International with the Aetna network of providers. The plan will be administered by LewerMark. All F1 international students at LAHC are required to enroll in a medical insurance policy provided by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD).
International (F-1) Students & Health Care Information
It is mandatory that all Los Angeles Community College District F-1 students use the approved LewerMark plan. The exceptionally low rate of $123.68* per month (see chart under coverage timeline for more details) of coverage. You are to be billed directly to your student account, let us know if you are not being charged after adding courses. (*Cost is subject to adjustment once per year.)
Coverage Timeline
Students enrolling in the fall semester receive medical insurance coverage from August 15th through January 31st. Students enrolling in the spring semester receive coverage from February 1st through August 14th.

About Your Policy
Your health insurance provider will switch from Anthem to LewerMark Student Insurance, which utilizes the Aetna network. LewerMark will assist you with any customer service needs as you navigate the U.S. healthcare system.This plan provides free access to Teladoc, My SSP, and SES. About Previous Policy
If you need to file an Anthem claim prior to August 15th contact Gallagher Insurance by calling (833) 818-7090 or visit Anthem.
Urgent Care
Many hospitals have Urgent Care Centers where patients are treated by a doctor and the co-pay for Urgent Care is the same as that for a doctor.
Emergency Rooms
If a patient goes to an emergency room and the condition is not life threatening as determined by a nurse practioner in the emergency room, the patient may wait an hour or more from treatment especially if the emergency room is filled with patients with life and death emergencies.
Part-Time F-1 Students at LAHC
Part-time students should check the Student Information System to ensure that they are not being charged for this medical insurance. Part time international (F-1 visa) students from other colleges enrolling at LAHC are not expected to pay the medical insurance fee. Part-time students must visit the International Student Program (ISP) upon registering for classes--as required for part-time admittance or continued part-time attendance--with a letter of permission from their home campus DSO, their current passport, a copy of their I-94, I-20 and their F-1 VISA. The medical insurance fee will then be manually blocked. Unless the charge is blocked or removed shortly after enrollment, it may not be possible to remove the charge. If you are billed for insurance as a part-time student, please contact our office immediately.
