The Dream Resource Center (DRC), is committed to creating access and increasing retention of undocumented students at Los Angeles Harbor College. The goal is to increase awareness of programs and resources available to undocumented students, which are vital to their academic success. We work collaboratively with different departments on campus to establish a supportive network.

Ivan Silva

Dream Resource Center, Counselor & Coordinator
Iván Silva is a counselor & coordinator of the Dream Resource Center at Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC). He is the son of immigrant parents from Mexico and the first in his family to earn a college degree. Iván earned his B.A. in Sociology and Chicano/a Studies from the University of California, Davis, and his Master's degree in Counseling from San Francisco State University. His passion lies in supporting students through their education and removing systematic barriers to achievement.

Jasmine Alvarez

Hello students! My name is Jasmine Alvarez and I'm an adjunct counselor at Los Angeles Harbor College. I'm a proud Harbor College alumni and transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills where I graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology. When I discovered my passion for counseling, I pursued my Master's degree at the University of La Verne in Educational Counseling. Counseling students is my passion, and my goal is to help you reach your academic goals. I'm excited and eager to meet all the wonderful students at our Dream Resource Center.

My name is Erik Ortiz, this is my 3rd year at Los Angeles Harbor College, and I am a student worker for the Dream Resource Center. My major is business marketing and I am thinking about getting a minor in theatre. Being a student worker for the Dream Resource Center my goal is to give it more visibility and to learn from the experience to grow while networking with others.
