Associate in Arts for Transfer in Music (A.A. degree)
The Associate in Arts in Music for Transfer Degree guarantees students transfer into a California State University Bachelor of Arts in Music program (but not to a specific campus). LAHC music courses provide training in music theory and musicianship (sight singing and ear training). Students receive individual and group lessons on their primary instrument or voice. Students also receive both solo and ensemble performance experience. Auditions may be required for classes at LAHC and CSUs.

MUSIC Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement in Music program provides an opportunity for students to acquire breadth of knowledge and introductory skills in music. It is designed for students considering a career in music but who have not yet decided upon an area of emphasis, or for those who wish to acquire such knowledge and skills prior to completing any of the other music awards offered at Harbor College. Students will study Music Theory and Musicianship (sight singing and ear training), and Business of Commercial Music. Additional elective courses will allow students to explore instrumental or vocal technique, music technology, music history and performance.
MUSIC PERFORMANCE Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement in Music Performance program provides an opportunity for students to acquire focused musical knowledge and skills in instrumental or vocal performance. It is designed for students considering a career as a professional musician, band leader, choir director, and/or private music instructor. Students will study Music Theory and Musicianship (sight singing and ear training), and Business of Commercial Music. Additional courses will include individual instrument or voice lessons, as well as ensemble and solo performance experience. (Auditions are required for some Music classes.)
MUSIC TECHNOLOGY Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement in Music Technology program provides an opportunity for students to acquire focused musical knowledge and technical skills. Students will study Music Theory and Musicianship (sight singing and ear training), and Business of Commercial Music. Additional courses will include the study of music recording and production techniques, Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software, synthesizers, and related equipment.
MUSIC SONGWRITING Certificate of Achievement
This program helps students develop skills in Commercial Songwriting. Basic to advance songwriting skills are introduced, explored, and developed. Techniques of creating original melodies, harmonies, and lyrics will be reviewed and enhanced. These skills are essential for students wishing to become composers of popular/commercial music and other styles, singer-songwriters, performing musicians, and/or music producers.
