Music Tutoring

The music instructional assistant is available to hold study sessions with multiple participants or one-on-one tutoring. Contact the music instructional assistant for further information.

Music Club

The Music Club provides a space for students to chat with other students as well as for faculty to occasionally host educational workshops relevant to student interests. The Music Club is led by a current LAHC music student. For more information on meeting time and location, contact the music instructional assistant.

Practice Rooms

Students enrolled in any music course have access to the practice rooms in the music building. The practice rooms are available during music business hours. Call the Music Office for an update on hours and the process to reserving a practice room.

Lockers

Students enrolled in a music course can reserve a locker in the music building. Contact the music instructional assistant for further information on the locker reservation policy.

Scholarships

There are music scholarships available to LAHC music students:

Applied Music Lab Scholarship Lessons

  • Students may receive scholarship lessons to study with a music faculty.

  • The selection is audition based for full-time music students enrolled in required music courses such as MUS 181 Applied music lab, MUS 180 Applied music, a performance ensemble, MUS 216 music theory and MUS 217 musicianship series.

Ruth Marie Anderson Music Scholarship

  • Application process: LAHC students may apply for the annual Harbor College Scholarships Application found on the Financial Aid scholarship page. The application period is typically in March.

  • In honor of Ruth Andreson, a pianist who taught and loved both jazz and classical music.

Ken Miller Memorial Music Scholarship

  • Application process: LAHC students may apply for the annual Harbor College Scholarships Application found on the Financial Aid scholarship page. The application period is typically in March.

  • In honor of Ken Miller who came to Harbor college after working as a computer/arranger in film and television industry. Ken taught music theory and jazz classes at Harbor.
