ANNUAL​ PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

As a United Summer Associate you will be an important part of our customers’ travel experience. Assignment may consist of, but not limited to, working at the ticket counter, boarding gates, baggage service and Federal Inspection Area (FIS)).

Most importantly, you’ll create a warm and welcoming environment for passengers.

  • Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Greet customers and assist customers with way finding.
  • Unaccompanied minor assistance
  • Help identify noncompliant baggage
  • Safety advocate

Job Requirements:

  • Must have State ID, Passport/Birth certificate , Social Security card; Enrolled in college full time with 2.7 GPA and provide proof of enrollment; Mature & Reliable, Neat & Professional Appearance ; Warm and inviting personality
  • Must be able to work from Thursday, June 1, - Monday, July 31
  • Must be Available to work 32-40 hours a week, during the 8 week program
  • Must be able to work any shift, including early morning, nights and weekends & holidays.

The JPL Summer Internship Program offers 10-week, full-time, summer internship opportunities at JPL to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

As part of their internships, students are partnered with JPL scientists or engineers, who serve as the students' mentors. Students complete designated projects outlined by their mentors, gaining educational experience in their fields of study while also contributing to NASA and JPL missions and science. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of enrichment activities, including tours, lectures and career advisement, arranged by the JPL Education Office.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics disciplines
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Open to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents (LPRs).
  • Students must be available full time (40 hours per week) for at least 10-weeks in the summer.

Details:

  • Summer internships begin in May and June, on the first business day of each week.
  • Participants receive a weekly stipend. Stipend amounts vary and are subject to change.
  • Housing and travel allowances are not provided, however, program participants have the option of living in the Caltech dormitories for the summer guest housing rate. Rates are the discretion of the Caltech Department of Institute Housing and are subject to change.

The Los Angeles Community College District’s (LACCD) Internship program creates pathways for students to access meaningful careers within the construction industry. Educational opportunities in partnership with firms and contractors performing work LACCD’s Bond Program. The Internship Program will provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in middle class careers by collaborating with on-site businesses and college faculty. Ideal applicant is: Current 2nd Year LAHC Students and students with some previous work experience. All qualified candidates will be placed on a hiring list, and interviewed as future positions become available.

Bixel Exchange is working with the City of Los Angeles and tech companies like Snap (maker of Snapchat), Headspace, Perception Robotics, and other companies to offer summer internships to students. These are PAID internships at major tech companies targeted to students from L.A. area community colleges, who are between 18-24 years of age.

We have several internships from companies like TrueCar, Snap and the City of L.A., along with many others. Internship positions include: Information Technology; Software Engineering; Product Management; Marketing; Big Data and Production

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be between 18 and 24 years old (for all subsidized internships)
  • Must be a City/County of Los Angeles resident (for all subsidized internships)
  • Must have the right to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work
  • Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week

DEADLINES:

  • FEB 1 - MAY 1: APPLICATION DEADLINE for Summer 2018
  • February 26 - March 9: Second round notifications - Finalists will be invited to phone interviews and in-person interviews by tech companies

The City of Torrance is currently accepting applications for the Summer Volunteer Internship Program. Summer Interns work alongside dedicated City professionals to gain both academic and practical experience working in local government. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the City of Torrance and the exceptional services it provides to the community.

The goals of the program are to engage college students for the purpose of career exploration and civic engagement in public service. In addition, the Summer Intern will develop job skills, gain work experience, and build a professional network.

We anticipate internship opportunities in the following City Departments: Office of the City Manager - Human Resources - Economic Development - Finance Park Services - Madrona Marsh Preserve and Nature Center - Transit - Fleet Services - Fire - Police (Participants will also participate in career workshops and receive a behind the scenes tour of the Torrance Police and Fire Department! )

Summer Interns are expected to commit to an eight (8) week term of service. The schedule for the program is 20 hours per week to be arranged with the sponsoring departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • Must have completed two (2) years at a qualified academic institution in good standing. • Possess at least a 3.0 G.P.A. Ideal Candidate: We are looking for highly motivated students with a sincere desire to be mentored in the area of municipal government. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and proactive.
