CARE
CARE (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) is a California state-funded program designed to assist single parent recipients of CalWORKs, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or Tribal TANF. CARE provides support services and/or grants funds to assist single parents to expand their education and job training opportunities, and thereby enhance their employability.
Who is eligible for CARE?
- are eligible for EOPS
- are single and head of household
- have at least one dependent child
- receive CalWORKs, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or Tribal TANF
- are enrolled in at least 9 units upon acceptance
- are at least 18 years old
- are pursuing an educational, vocational, or job training program at Los Angeles Harbor College which will lead to a certificate, degree, or transfer objective
